Support & Tips
Make the most of Vokabulo
Practical tips to learn faster, stay consistent, and keep every device in sync.
Getting started quickly
- Create one focused list per goal (e.g., “Travel Spanish A2”) to avoid noise.
- Set a daily target you can always hit (10–15 cards) to build streaks reliably.
- Use the “Start free” flow on mobile and desktop so both stay synchronized.
Better sessions
- Turn on Focus mode for distraction-free reps and faster completion times.
- Use keyboard shortcuts: arrow keys to rate, space to flip, enter to continue.
- Study in short bursts (2–3 sessions/day) instead of one long block.
Spaced repetition wins
- Always clear your “Due” cards before adding lots of new ones.
- If a card keeps failing, rewrite it simpler or add a mnemonic.
- Keep intervals honest: resist manual repeats; let the scheduler do the work.
Lists and importing
- Group by theme (travel, work, exam) and level (A1, B1) for cleaner insights.
- When importing CSV, keep columns consistent (front/back/hint) to avoid duplicates.
- Share lists with teammates via exports to keep everyone aligned.
Streaks and motivation
- Set a “minimum viable day” (even 5 cards) to avoid breaking streaks.
- Review earlier in the day; late sessions risk rollovers and missed goals.
- Track weekly gains (“+ words learned”) instead of just streak length.
Offline and sync
- Download your main lists before traveling; Vokabulo caches progress and syncs when back online.
- If you switch devices mid-day, refresh once to pull the latest due queue.
- Keep one primary device for adding new cards; review anywhere.
Fixing common issues
- Duplicates after import: run de-duplicate in list settings and keep one source of truth.
- Cards feel too easy: lower ease only on the tough ones; don’t reset the whole deck.
- Overdue pile: do two short sessions to clear “Due” before adding new cards.
