Home is built around three cards, and they always belong to the language pair you have selected. The flag at the top right tells you which one that is; tap it to switch.

The session card

The card at the top offers you the next thing to study. A line above the word tells you why it is there: Do you remember? for a word coming back around, New word for you for one you have not studied yet. Tap the word itself to see its card.

Underneath sits the button that starts the session. It names the size rather than the streak, so it reads Practice 10 Words or Practice 5 Minutes, whichever mode you used last. The button turns orange while today’s streak is still open and goes back to blue once you have secured the day.

The small line under the button is the filter your session will use, and it is a button too. It reads Select a filter, or the name of the single tag, level or usage label you picked, or Filter active for any combination. Tap it and the Filter sheet opens right there, so you can narrow tomorrow’s session without leaving Home. It is the same filter the Study tab uses, so a change here shows up there.

The capture field

Below it is a single field for catching a word. Type or paste a word, a phrase or a whole sentence and press return; there is no separate button. The chip under the field reads Input in English, or whichever language you are typing, and tapping it switches to the other side of your pair. The microphone next to it takes dictation instead.

It is the same field you get on the Words screen, so it makes no difference which one you use. The one on Home has something Words does not: the words you added recently drift past underneath as small chips. Tap one to open it.

The tip card

The last card is either a note from your tutor, headed A thought, or a tip about something in the app you have not tried yet. Tips can be hidden with the small Hide control and they do not come back. Your tutor’s notes have no hide control, and you can switch them off entirely, choose the language they are written in and pick their tone in Settings – Study.
