What does the microphone icon do?

The microphone listens in the language shown on the chip beside it, Input in English or whichever your native language is. Tap the chip to dictate in another of your languages instead. Vokabulo cleans the transcript with AI before it lands in the field.
The first time you tap it, iOS asks for permission to use the microphone and speech recognition. If either is declined, Vokabulo tells you so and offers Open Settings, which takes you straight to the switch.
Tip
Voice input is so much more convenient than typing, if your surroundings allow it.
