What is the countdown on my Lock Screen?
A card that appears late in the day while your streak is still open, showing the time left until midnight and the cards you still owe. Turn it off in Settings – Widget.
On top of the Home Screen widget, Vokabulo can put a countdown on your Lock Screen for the last part of the day.
It shows your flame and your streak number, the time left until midnight, and how many cards you still owe, as 3 cards left before midnight. Once the day is safe it says Streak secured. On an iPhone with the Dynamic Island the same countdown appears there. Tapping it opens the app on that language pair.
It only turns up when the day is genuinely still open, and it disappears by itself the moment you secure it. Because a Lock Screen card cannot live longer than about eight hours, it never starts before four in the afternoon, even if your study reminder is set earlier.
To switch it off, go to Settings – Widget and turn Lock Screen countdown off. It is on to begin with, and that toggle is the only place it is controlled.
