How do I rename or delete a tag?
Select the tag in the filter first, then long-press it. From there you can rename it or delete the words that carry it. Having to select first is a deliberate safety step.
Long-press any tag chip in the Filter sheet to manage it.
The menu holds four things:
- Share the tag and every word on it.
- Rename it, in a sheet of its own.
- Delete Words with this Tag, which removes the vocabulary.
- Delete, which removes only the tag and leaves every word where it was.
Take care not to confuse the last two. Only Delete Words with this Tag needs the tag selected first, and it has to be the only tag selected. That is deliberate, because it is the one entry that destroys vocabulary.
Merging two tags into one
Rename doubles as the way to merge. Give a tag a name that already exists and Vokabulo offers to move every word onto the existing tag instead. That is the fix for the same tag typed two different ways.
A tag left with no words on it disappears by itself.
