Can I trust the AI translation?
Almost always, but not blindly. It handles the everyday cases very well and can still trip over slang, ambiguity or rare meanings, so edit anything that feels off.
Vokabulo runs on the latest, most powerful AI language models, and we run regular tests to see which ones offer the best translations. They handle the great majority of cases very well, but they can still trip over slang, ambiguity, or a very rare meaning.
Treat the AI as a capable assistant, not an unquestionable authority. If a translation feels off, trust your gut: refine the context, edit the result, or try again with a clearer prompt.
Asking for a second opinion
Not happy with a translation? The round arrow button in the top right corner re-rolls it on the backup model, and tapping it again cycles back to the first result.
What the AI changes on its way
The AI does more than translate. It corrects your spelling, puts verbs into the infinitive, gives nouns their article, and offers gendered adjectives in both forms.
So the word you typed may change under your fingers. That is intended, not a glitch.
When it is confident about more than one translation it returns up to three, comma-joined in the one field, and it is worth trimming that before you save.
When a call fails
The error appears in red under the field, with a Retry link beside it. If the service is down altogether, Vokabulo lets you save with only one field filled, tags the word In Progress, and fills in the rest by itself once it can.
